Debbie and I started our cooking careers when we were 13 years old at Hildebrands Coffee Shop now Lyndees Restaurant. Harold Hildebrandt taught us how to make large quantities of food from scratch. Stella Kruse made all the pies, and showed us how to make pie crusts. She always told us the trick is in the cold water. The showing did not stick with us after all those years so when we started making pies for retail outlets we had to be retrained again. Luckily we found the perfect person to hire and help us.
I (Theresa) later worked at Moose's Bar & Restaurant on the weekends cooking breakfast. I later worked at Vintage 1847 for 1 1/2 years for Gary & Debbie Buckler, and after that worked at Concert Hall Barrell & Bar on weekend evenings for 3 years. I worked at Henniges Automotive, 20+ years and own Black's Small Engines & Whiskers Bait Shop with my husband. I quit ( retired) from Henniges 2 years ago to put more time into the catering business. It was a great decision and we have been busy.
Debbie later worked at Laboube's Bakery. The bakery was owned by her brother Dale & sister -in- law Janet. She enjoyed making all the great tasting confectioneries. She also did cooking at home for her younger brothers and parents on the farm. Several years later Debbie joined Theresa at the Concert Hall & Barrell Bar. She is currently employed by Henniges Automotive 30+ years.
Classmates since kindergarten, we have both enjoyed cooking together. Most recently we teamed up to cater for your special events such as weddings, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, funeral dinners or small dinner parties to name a few.
